Augmented Reality or AR is a live direct or indirect view of a real-world; physical environment whose elements are enlarged by a computer generated sensory input like sound, video, graphics etc. it is related to computer mediated reality. In it the reality view is modified by a computer. It is a new technology that has started to spread. Generally it is a mixed of 3D model with live footage in real time.

This concept has already applied on the futuristic interfaces and it allows architects to take their 3D model a step ahead placing on the real world and showing it to the clients. So it is very helpful for the architects. These techniques are showed in the real time and over a live video feed of a sporting event.

With the help of advanced AR technology, one can start playing with Augmented Reality. This plugin allows placing the 3D model on the live video form webcam, and can move it around. In this tutorial video the process is described. This also can calculate the planes on the live video and has a sheet for print out. This software can calculate the distance and inclination. The information can be virtual or real. This technology brings out the components of the digital world in a person’s reality.

To start this, the necessary things are Google SketchUp, a webcam and then the trial version of AR-Media Sketchup plugin need to be downloaded, and after printing the sheet one can start to play with their models. This technology was tested in the office with Aravena’s ORDOS 100 model, and the result was very impressive. To work on this always start on a small model, after a little time the software will launch and start to work.
