I have been teaching for 16 years, coving a range of areas including Graphics and ICT subjects. Before entering teaching, I worked for numerous architects in Brisbane whilst completing my Architectural studies. I have been a keen user of CAD programs and have embraced the use of Trimble SketchUp for all the CAD work that we teach at the College. Trimble SketchUp Pro, coupled with Layout provides an ideal platform for the teaching of Graphical concepts and to develop students’ 3D modelling skills and spatial awareness. I am a technology enthusiast how continually seeks to provide the best opportunities for the students. SketchUp opens doors to engaging students in the use of augmented reality, 3D printing and animation.
I use Trimble SketchUp to engage students on projects ranging from designing (and printing) keyrings to designing furniture and houses. I take every opportunity to present at ICT conferences on the wide ranging educational application of SketchUp and work with educational authorities in the roll out of the program across the state.
